In the first half of 2020, our lives are affected by fear, confusion, misery, and pain. By 2020, “Poetry Comes to Museum” has been through 8 years. Poetry is the breathing spirit and the long way home for those who are in search for a spiritual motherland. As the peaceful island in mind and the emotion explorer, poetry inspires people to rethink about our relationship with mother nature. In this July, “Poetry Comes to Museum” is back after a long pause due to the global pandemic, with new live that combines poetry and music. Han Bo, who is engaged in various field, is going to visit the museum and share about poetry and life. Poet, painter and musician Da Gongyilang (Zhang Yi) is also invited to perform Han Bo’s poem “Road in the Woods.” Let us come back to Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum, to experience the special scene in life via reading, writing, and getting close to poetry, with the beauty of music together.
Han Bo is an acclaimed poet, playwright, travel writer, and artist. Born and raised in Heilongjiang in northeastern China, he now travels extensively while keeping his home in Shanghai. HAN Bo is the author of several poetry collections including Borrow Deep Heart and A Banquet of Knots. He is also the author of five collections of poetry and five books of travel writing documenting his travels throughout Europe and Asia. His work has been translated into English, French, Russian, Spanish, German among other languages. His 2013 poetry collection, 飛去來寺 (Fly to the Temple) includes the “China Eastern Railway” cycle. He has participated in programs and residency programs at the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program, the Vermont Studio Center Literature in Translation Program, the Avignon European Poetry Center, the Berlin International Poetry Festival and the Paris French-English Poetry Festival. Han Bo is the recipient of China’s Liu Li’an Poetry Prize, among other awards. He is also the author of over ten works of drama and is the founder of Shanghai’s Night Stage Drama Studio.

His real name is Zhang Yi. Graduated from Department of Politics, Suchow University and Department of Chinese, Fudan University. Poet, painter and musician. He is the author of poetry collection Between the Mood and Footprints, essay collection Between Heavens, poetry collection To Build a City. He has written dozens of songs. Currently lives in Shanghai.
