This workshop is taught by an expert tutor from the Princes Foundation School of Traditional Arts, London UK. This workshop will give students hands-on practice, exploring how to use the compass and ruler as the foundation towards design. In this workshop, we will explore this concept with art lovers, artists and designers to discover the eternal source of inspiration of their creative works and spiritual journeys in traditional wisdom.
The workshop is three-hours long.
At the beginning of the workshop, Ramiz will lecture on the basic principles of geometry, and their practical applications. (1hr)
With ruler and compass, participants will construct a series of geometrical patterns from simple to complex. Through compare and contrast of the patterns, participants will better understand how traditional arts can be applied to design language.
